Bestview Park Trail Improvements Report

VFA was retained to provide trail planning services for this natural park which is primarily composed of sugar maple - beech forest and contains a section of the German Mills Creek. VFA carried out site investigation and documentation using GPS equipment to note locations of existing formal and informal trails, erosion and damage to the creek bank, and safety hazards due to fallen trees and steep slopes. VFA has been developing a trail strategy with the aim of reaching safety standards, reducing informal trails and minimizing damage to the creek bank. VFA is also working in collaboration with the TRCA and TPFR to develop a strategy for slope stabilization at the highly eroded sections of the creek edge.
