Sunnyside Bike Park
Sunnyside Bike Park is Toronto’s first ever City-sanctioned off-road mountain bike park. It was designed in collaboration with world-renowned bike park designer Jay Hoots, who also constructed the park’s riding features.
The park sits on a narrow strip of formerly vacant land between Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway, offering a spectacle to commuters. It’s one of the largest parks of its kind in North America and certainly the only one located in the core of a major urban centre.
Construction of the bike track features was completed in 2014. Since opening, this state-of-the-art bike park has become an immensely popular hub for beginner to experienced cyclists, as well as spectators. An amenity area, drop-off, and wayfinding signage were added in 2015.
